The LitCorps
The LitCorp's mission is to redefine the educational model, to reach children where they are, whether it be in a school, community center, home or outside. Education will become decentralized, deinstitutionalized, and altogether re-imagined to fit a democratized and interconnected new world. The LitCorps uses a combination of LitWorld's field tested literacy curricula, traditional and social media advocacy, and LitCorps members' own ideas based on a deep understanding of what the local needs are in their region in order to fight illiteracy on multiple levels.
The goal of the LitCorps Initiative is to have LitWorld Ambassadors in every country of the world and reach millions of children. The goal of the LitCorps Initiative is not to build schools; it's to build capacity. Local community leaders themselves will be trained in proven, effective teaching practices.
LitWorld's team of Ambassadors, Facilitators, and Members promotes and innovates effective literacy practices to revolutionize outcomes in literacy rates and equip local communities to lead children into a new era in which everyone has the right to read and write.
