LitWorld has created these clubs to inspire and engage girls everywhere through the power of words and stories and to especially promote academic and emotional empowerment and in girls ages eight to sixteen. They have been designed to form a network of girls worldwide using literacy for power and to encourage girls to take social action on behalf of global literacy and justice for girls worldwide. The LitWorld Girls Clubs will create a global network linked through the power of stories, poems and songs shared by women and girls across the world. Strengthening the lives of girls is critical if we are to succeed in eliminating poverty and global health challenges. LitWorld's special focus on reading and writing as a tool for change and empowerment is a crucial way to solve the social issues of our time and with the power and growing strength of girls acting on behalf of girls, we can take action that will truly change the world.
