Our Partners at Project Pearls Celebrate WRAD in Ulingan City, Philippines!

One of our new partnerships in the Philippines is with Project Pearls, an organization that provides support to a community of informal settlers in Ulingan City Philippines. This year, they've joined us in celebrating WRAD, and we are so happy to see images of their youth so captivated in story. Check out the photos below to view their World Read Aloud Day celebration with special guest storyteller, Lyn Danao.

You can view more of Project Pearls' story through the eyes of our LitCorps Ambassador here, or visit the Project Pearls website at: www.projectpearls.org

Our Friends in Iligan City, Philippines Celebrate World Read Aloud Day!

These wonderfully colorful pictures bring such joy to us. We thank our friends from Sagip Iligan, the Special Operations of MSU-IIT High School Batch of 2000 in Iligan City, Philippines for celebrating World Read Aloud Day with us!

What made this edition really special was the kids' enthusiasm to stay and participate even if their classes were already finished for the day, as narrated by our Sagip Iligan friends. This is made even more significant by the fact that most of them, about 80% of the school's population, were greatly affected by Typhoon Sendong (International Name: Washi) in December 2011. We honor the resilience and spirit hope in the Iligan City community.

Thank you Sagip Iligan!
