Kate Messner’s Virtual Author Read-Alouds

Kate Messner, WRADvocate and author of more than 40 children’s books, celebrates World Read Aloud Day each year by compiling a list of author volunteers to spend part of the day doing quick virtual read-aloud visits with classrooms around the world to share the joy of stories.

Multicultural Story Resources

Stories play a critical role in shaping who we are and how we see the world. However, like most media, much of children’s literature has been limited by focusing predominately on white characters and white narratives, with few opportunities for children to share, engage in, or relate to diverse experiences.
